As of today, Medicine has yet to unlock the grips of metastatic breast cancer, which remains an incurable disease. Classically, its treatment consists of a combination of chemotherapy and hormone therapy, and recently, new biological drugs (CDK4/6 inhibitors) have been added, which, by halting the cell cycle, are also capable of stopping and reversing the course of the disease. Unfortunately, the effect of the treatment is limited, and the fight against this cancer involves overcoming the resistance mechanisms that act on current therapies. It has been demonstrated that specifically with CDK4/6 inhibitors an important mechanism is the activity of CDK2, and with the emergence of inhibitors targeting this, we find the objective of creating a therapy puts this connection to use. To initiate this path, we propose a phase I clinical study, which will allow us to ensure good tolerability of this new therapy and begin to gather data on its potential.
