Resumen
This article explores the concept of the «ageing» of translations, by analysing five "full" translations of Cervantes's Don Quixote into Catalan published between 1882 and 2005. The translations included were those by Eduard Tàmaro, Antoni Bulbena, Ildefons Rullan, Joaquim Civera and Josep Maria Casasayas, as well as Francesc Martinez's lost translation. For one reason or another, all the translations were already «anachronistic» as soon as they were published.
