N2 - This paper presents the perspective of Latin America immigrant women about the role that social support had concerning the cessation or reduction of intimate partner violence. Qualitative methodology was chosen to analyze the experience of fourteen battered Latin American women in Barcelona, Spain. According to the data analysis through interviews, emotional support and economical resources are important functional aspects given by the social network. On the other hand, the social network's answer can produce victimization risks. Results showed the importance of interventions to use the social network to help battered women recover from violence.
