Influence of modified nano-copper oxide particles on the reaction between nitrocobalamin and ascorbic acid

Resumen

CuO nanoparticles have demonstrated a significant effect on the formation kinetics of nitrosylcobalamin (CblNO) in the reaction between nitrocobalamin (CblNO) and ascorbic acid (Asc). Nanoparticles of CuO were modified by coating with a polydopamine layer (nCuO-pDP) and addition of functional ligands (o-(aminoethyl) polyethylene) (nCuO-pDP-polymer). It was demonstrated that the introduction of modifications improved the stability of the suspension and partially eliminated the aggregation of the nanoparticles. Kinetic measurements showed that the modified nanoparticles of CuO clearly accelerate the reaction between nitrocobalamin (CblNO) and ascorbic acid (Asc) under weakly acidic conditions. The presented research is part of the project 'Air Pollution versus Autoimmunity: Role of multiphase aqueous Inorganic Chemistry' that aims at studying the effect of inorganic compounds as a part of particulate matter (PM) on the processes that could affect the course of autoimmune diseases
