Economic Challenges and Challenges to Economics in Southern Europe

The Euroconferences will be organized by a network of 15 economics departments located in Southern Europe (ASSET). Their purpose is twofold: (1) to identify and discuss important economic issues which are specially relevant in Southern Europe (the economic challenges); these include regional cooperation, regional financial integration and public policies; (2) to promote the development of advanced economic research and research training in Southern Europe, in connection with the question above (the challenges to economics). Each event combines a focus on specific issues with an opportunity for young economists to attend and to present their current work on any topic. Invited speakers from any part of the world and other senior participants from the network institutions guarantee the scientific standards, facilitate the networking among young attendants and give continuity to the sequence of events.
