This doctoral thesis explores the vitality and complexity of medieval medicine through an exhaustive analysis of Hippocrates' Regimen acutorum and its commentaries, with special attention to those attributed to Arnau de Vilanova. The research is framed within the context of medieval universities, particularly that of Montpellier, and the methodological transformations driven by the arrival of the “New Galen”. Three texts are analyzed: the Abbreviacio regiminis acutorum, the Regimenta acutorum and the Lectura super regimentis acutorum, of which a critical edition and a study of the content and textual tradition have been carried out for the first time.
