Programa d'Orientació per a la recerca d'Ocupació dels interns de la Presó de Ponent

Student thesis: Doctoral thesis

Abstract

When we are within a criminality atmosphere, we are sure that if we want to rehabilitate prisoners we must work with the labour market integration, so that without it we are not able to talk about an optimal rehabilitation.

If we analyse the whole needs, we offer a Guidance program to find a job (PORO) which is integrate in the occupational curriculum training's courses (FO) which are under taken at Catalonian's prisons. The aim of this program is to improve the integration in the labour market, increasing knowledge and skills in order to find a job.

Our program is based in two theories: the Integrate Farrignton Theory about delinquency, in which interact personal and social factors, and it is also based on occupational integration model done by Montané (1990).

The program (PORO) is the first stage of vocational guidance in prisons. It is applied with a consulting method in which the guidance is the trainer courses duty who is responsible for the program application.

Once the results have been evaluated by CIPP model at Stufflebeam, we can come to the conclusion that the experimental group, which has followed PORO, has increased the integration level, their knowledge, their recourses, their skills and their professional self-esteem too, while the control group has remained stable.

We consider the results are satisfactory, when we verify the real labour market integration of prisoners, because the 48'8% of subjects of experimental group in freedom have find a job and also the 23,8% have done the control group.
