OPTIMIZACIÓN PROSOCIAL EN DOCENTES DE EDUCACIÓN PRIMARIA EN YUCATÁN, MÉXICO: EVALUACIÓN DE UN PROGRAMA.

Abstract

This research is the evaluation of the prosocial experience of a group of ten teachers who agreed to participate voluntarily in a prosocial optimization program developed in eight sessions with teachers from a public, rural and coastal elementary school in the state of Yucatan, Mexico; using the pedagogical and psychological technique of workshop in which included experiential exercises like the personal laboratories aimed at acquiring prosocial skills. The proposal is intended as a resource that promotes human development through prosocial behavior seeking to improve interpersonal and group relationships, communication, service, family life, professional work and therefore, the professional performance. The objectives are: a) Describe the process of construction in prosocial life of the elementary school teachers in the public system; b) Describe the process of development of prosocial skills during the Program; c) Know and characterize and categorize the changes that participating teachers in the program perceive themselves on their educational practice. Because the purpose, design and the contribution of this study, an evaluative research is presented, observed the need to implement the humanistic approach in the Mexican public education system, was designed the Program for teachers, then developed the Program; after with the methodology of evaluation research, data were collected supported of a design matrix, the process and the immediate results were analyzed in order to provide inputs on program improvement. The data demonstrate possibilities for personal and professional growth, strengthening of self-esteem, assertiveness, acquisition of prosocial skills that enhance their ability to establish enriched social relations that encourage and generate healthy environments, promoting, that way, human development.
