This final degree project analyses access to abortion in Catalonia from a legal, gender, and intersectional perspective. Through a review of Spanish legislation from 1985, 2010, and the 2023 legal reform, it examines the evolution of abortion laws and their real impact on the effective enjoyment of sexual and reproductive rights. Despite important legal advances, access to abortion remains limited by territorial, structural, and social barriers that disproportionately affect vulnerable groups such as migrants, transmasculine individuals, young people, and residents of rural areas. The study explores key obstacles including conscientious objection, lack of accessible information, social stigma, and unequal distribution of services, all of which compromise the full and equal exercise of this right. It also includes a comparative analysis of the restrictive legal framework in Andorra and situates the discussion within the broader global trend of regressions in reproductive rights. Employing a qualitative methodology and grounded in a feminist and human rights-based approach, the research puts forward proposals to ensure universal, equitable, and stigma-free access to abortion, affirming bodily autonomy and the right to decide as essential pillars of gender equality and personal freedom.
