This thesis studies the ecosystem of the publicity in Catalonia. It begins with a study of the publicity and the tools to measure it, complemented with an exploratory study that shows how catalan agencies evaluate the publicity based on the outputs achieved in the press. Then it reviews litearature on pseudo-events, understood as tools to achieve media coverage, ending in a content analysis of news from the economy section of the four most read newspapers in Catalonia. With the results of the poll among catalan agencies showing that their evaluation is focused on coverage, and the results of the content analysis showing that 21,3% of the news in which the subject is a company is created from pseudoevents, we conclude that the objective pursued by PR agencies of creating pseudoesdeveniments that get media coverage is accomplished.
