La interactividad en el Periódico Digital.

    Student thesis: Doctoral thesis

    Abstract

Digital newspaper can give to the reader/citizen a more direct participation in the public discourse of the media, both to select contents and to produce it. The digital technology enables new ways of expression for the citizen. At the same time as the newspaper can turn into a node of multiple internal and external links for the reader can explore the contents. But, what real possibilities of expression and communication have readers in the new media? What visibility do they achieve his/her contributions in the general contents of the media? What roles can interactive reader occupy in the digital newspaper? And, at the same time, what interactive alternatives of selection of contents do media offer to the readers? What type of hypertextual structures and over what hyperlinks do they predominate? Interactivity is the key concept to study how this relation between readers and media is articulated. Interactivity is a fashionable word, every day more used by the experts and the own media, but with dissimilar meanings. In this thesis, we define interactivity as "a gradual capacity that has media to give power to readers / users in the construction of the news offering him/her so much possibilities of selection as of expression and communication". En summary, in this work: 1) We will do a deep theoretical tracking on the concept of interactivity, in his two modalities of "selective interactivity" and "communicative interactivity". 2) We will analyze what possibilities of selective and communicative participation offers digital newspaper to the readers, studying four sites (elpais.es, elmundo.es, clarin.com and La Nation Line) throughout four years. 3) We will realize a series of proposals for the construction of an Interactive Digital Newspaper.
