High-Throughput Methodologies for Binary and Ternary Organic Solar Cells

    Student thesis: Doctoral thesis

    Abstract

Organic Solar Cells have garnered considerable interest due to their several advantages when compared to Other Solar Cell technologies. These properties include light-weight and flexible devices, tunability of optical properties such as color and semitransparency, solution processability..._x000D_ However, their final Power Conversion Efficiency depends in a complex, multi-dimensional and highly correlated parametric landscape._x000D_ In this PhD thesis we design and explore new high-throughput methodologies designed to allow the screening of Organic Solar Cells performance variation in multiple parameters, speeding the optimization process. These methodologies are based on the manufacturing of gradients in the parameters of interest, and aim to change the prototyping-intensive approach of Organic Solar Cell research to a measuring-intensive approach.
