Abstract

This study focuses on Social Responsibility (SR) in the university environment in Ecuador. It explored how SR is understood in each institution, the transition from theory to practice, the points of coincidence and differentiation between institutions, the impact and sustainability indicators. The forms of communication used before, during and after SR actions were investigated, the media selected to disseminate them, why they are chosen and how the feedback from the target audience is handled._x000D_ The research used an exploratory qualitative methodology, with open interviews and analysis of theoretical bases. The Delphi methodology was applied to collect data, including a focus group and teacher surveys. Information available on websites and in the media was also reviewed. The findings show that all universities recognize the importance of USR in social transformation and improving quality of life, with sustainability as a common thread in their efforts.
