Between 1815 and 1931 twelve clarinettists served in the Real Capilla in Madrid. From among the documents held in the General Palace Archive, a good number of those relating to these musicians have been located and transcribed: personal files, competition files, regulations, pay slips, decrees, staff lists, etc. . . in order to recreate chronologically the daily life of these musicians within the institution and the influence that the political events of the 19th century in Spain had on them and on the Real Capilla. The documentation located, transcribed and studied is basically administrative paperwork and allows us to provide some light on a very unknown aspect of life of the musicians of the Real Capilla de Palacio in the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
