The investigation is an approach, from the Didactics of the mathematics, to the problematic one that it raises education and learning in the scope of university education. Taking like theoretical reference the main theoretical contributions of the line of well-known investigation like Advanced Mathematical Thought. Its intention is to analyze the process of education-learning of the concepts of function and end of a function through the accomplishment of a didactic unit, that affects the meaning creation and stimulates the process of learning of the students. The study population includes to students enrolled in the first semester of the Degree in Economy and a sample of six students for the study of cases. By means of a set of qualitative and quantitative strategies they are analyzed, as much the main difficulties of the students like the own didactic unit. The conclusions give certainty on the existence of difficulties in the learning of these concepts, as well as of the level coincidence with the results obtained in previous investigations. One concludes that the designed didactic unit is a good instrument to integrate the mathematical knowledge to the present cognitivo development of the students, that takes advantage of in greater measurement the initial knowledge the student and orients a specific content with new resources for the learning.
