The following work deals with the problematical studies of the performance observed from the jazz of Santiago of Chile. The way to carry out the analytical approaches has been made through a methodology that involves musicians by its compatible support from the point of view of the those who makes jazz and the investigators who, by interval of this methodological proximity, can accede to the knowledge of a style exported and integrated in this society. Their primary targets have been centred in two points: (1) the Improvisation, observed like Instantaneous Composition Spontaneous and/or Predetermined and (2) the Gestuality expressed like Emblem. Both behaviours are related to the speech that the musicians make in the scene, since they enter until the end of their concert. It has also been tried, within these two points, to systematize those musical and extra-musical conducts that the producers use to call the attention of the hearing, with the purpose of noticing the nexus that exists with the listener. From my point of view as musician and musicologist, I believe that the reader of this investigation will understand that both worlds are interrelated. The jazz like a existential art and mainly its performances: a world in constant updates. Therefore, the methodology which I suggest in this work indicates that it is open to possible reorganizations and better solutions on the part of musicians and analysts of the jazz.
