El Conservadorisme dinàstic a Catalunya (1905-1914) Crònica d'una mort anunciada

    Student thesis: Doctoral thesis

    Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the evolution of the Conservative Party in Barcelona from 1906 to 1914, from it foundation, and including the main successes of Solidaritat Catalana, until the final crisis of the party in 1914. It is generally considered that the Conservative party disappeared in Barcelona because the Catalan Nationalism won the elections at the begining of the ner XXth century. Nevertheless, this affirmation should be reformed. In fact, the Catalan Nationalism's success was considered by many Conservatists as the chance to set up a new kind of political association. This association would include Carlists, Catalan nationalists from the Lliga Regionaista, as well as Catholics. It was a political project developed between 1906 and 1914. Nevertheless, despite the choices and efforts, the Conservative Party would end up being dissolved in 1914, the year of its last and deadly crisis.
