El adultocentrismo como paradigma y sistema de dominio. Análisis de la reproducción de imaginarios en la investigación social chilena sobre lo juvenil

Abstract

This research aims to contribute to the debate on the youth, in its epistemological aspect, providing a new look paradigms and perspectives used to talk about youth, youth and adult-youth in society. To this end it interrogates knowledge production by way of social research on what youth in Chile, with respect to the imaginary that has developed and communicated this production._x000D_ I believe that relationships between adults and youth is conditioned, among other factors, by a set of mutual preconceptions that stigmata like dehumanizing affect these relations. Therefore, this study aimed to understand these preconceptions and perceived social research that produces and disseminates in society, affecting playback. At the time of this research, there is an accumulated knowledge in studies of the youth, who can afford to counter-hegemonic notions and adult-centered, propose alternatives in the epistemological level._x000D_ So the object of study, bounded as imaginary produced from the Chilean social research on the youth in relation to the condition of adult-contemporary society in the post dictatorship._x000D_ To carry out these research ideas, I raised a process with a qualitative approach, I worked on the productions of other researchers, in a process of meta-analysis in which I was introducing me to the schemes of observation used by this group of observers / as . The methodological strategy was undertaken studies, as I proposed investigative analysis contained in the magazine productions Last Decade (RUD). This device began to be published in 1993 and has continued uninterrupted until today, has specialized in youth issues, it has Scielo indexing and brings together authors / national as foreign and / as, which shows the quality of its contents and the recognition it has. From certain theoretical and practical criteria temporarily delimit the study period between 1993 and 2010._x000D_ The main findings of the investigation revealed the existence of these imaginary adultcentrism, the preeminence of use stated at the beginning of phased-in period and as coexistencia- processes is emerging a crisis and failure, as questions began to appear on his heuristic, and other perspectives are arising for the observation of the youth: the paths, the culturalist and generational. Similarly it is important as youth policy action, marking events in the period, provides elements to challenge these imaginary produced by social research and open to new categories that allow adult-centered alternatives to raise certain paradigm. Finally proposes an updated version of this adult-category conceptualization, as expressed and condensed domain system, a paradigm and an axis of analysis that complicates the possibilities of observing social research on the youth in Chile._x000D_ The text is organized into three sections. In the first, contextual, theoretical and methodological elements considered in the construction of the research object they are presented. The second contains the empirical analysis of what youth research production in the RUD. In the third, it delves into the adult-category from its historicizing and an updated conceptualization proposal.
