Cognitive impairment associated with movement disorders - such as Parkinson's disease (PD) or Huntington's disease (HD) - is an important cause of suffering, disability and social costs. Its causes are unknown, which makes its diagnosis and possible treatment difficult. Research into the connectivity of brain networks may shed light on these findings. This thesis has systematically investigated the neural correlates of the early stages of cognitive impairment, their relationship with medication intake or clinical assessment in PD, and the structure of these cognitive networks in HD.
