Análisis comparativo del Certificado Médico de Defunción en los periodos 1989-1992 y 1996-1997 en Sabadell. Interpretación según legislación vigente

Abstract

10.151 existing documents have been analyzed in the office of the Registro Civil of Sabadell's city. These documents were consisting of Medical Certificate of Death and model MNP-52 of the National Institute of Statistics for the violent deaths. The causes of death were studied in the types of natural, violent and judicial natural death. All the paragraphs were divided in two periods of time, one previous at the entry of the forensic doctors in the performance of the functions of the doctor of the civil Record, 1989-1992 and other one later to the above mentioned entry, 1996-1997. There was realized a statistical descriptive and analytical study. The conclusions to those who came near went: - They exist certified where there is not left witness of the reason of the death in the paragraphs of underlying and immediate cause. - They have put of manifest on the existence of deaths that were certified as natural cause when indeed they were deaths capable of judicial autopsy for be considering being violent deaths. - The welfare doctor and the forensic doctor, even realizing the judicial autopsy, sometimes they use medical slightly clear terminology or that does not identify the cause of death. - One of the diagnoses frequently used has been that of cardiorespiratory stop, principally in the period 1989-1992. His practical disappearance is observed immediately after the intervention of the forensic doctors in the Civil Record (period 1996-1997). - The participation of the forensic doctors in the control of the Death certificates has supposed the decrease of equivocal, vague terminology, improving the quality of the Medical Certificate of Death. - It has put of manifest that in the models of form of the National Institute of Statistics (MNP-52) for deaths of judicial intervention, elaborated immediately after from the autopsy judicial, inaccuracies exist. - In our study the principal medical - legal etiologia in the judicial death is the accidental form and inside this one the accidents of traffic. - The principal victims in the accidents of traffic are the drivers followed by the pedestrians. - The principal mechanisms of death in the medical - legal suicidal etiología, are the rainfall followed by the hanging. - The knifes are the instruments more frequently used for the commission of homicides. - A change exists in the trend of the place of the death, going on from the domicile to the hospitable center. - The causes of death in the natural death do not show significant differences when they are compared with the causes proceeding from other sources of information. Our final offer is the suppression of the paragraphs of fundamental reason and immediate reason of the Medical Certificates of Death, being replaced with the legend of natural reason.
