Abstract
We present a theoretical study of optical phonon modes in trigonal GaInP2. We use a simple Keating model with only two series of parameters, bond-stretching and bond-bending force constants, between first-nearest neighbours, whichare obtained by least-mean-squares fit to phonon modes in GaP and InP binary compound. Calculations show outstanding the following characteristics of optic phonons in GaInP2: GaP-like stretching modes are more sensitive to thetrigonal distorsion than InP-like ones. For r1—r3 doublets, planar r3 symmetry modes have greater energy than theiraxial Tl partners. © 1993 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
