Abstract

The mechanisms of transmission of knowledge are important to understand societies and different cultures. In this article, the current mechanisms of transmission of traditional knowledge is analyzed via the study of children and adolescents of a hunter-gatherer society: the Baka, from the south-east of Cameroon. The results suggest that there is no single form of knowledge transmission and a co-learning method among them, without adult intervention.
