Abstract

This paper develops a bibliometric analysis of the journal DOCUMENTS D'ANÀLISI GEOGRÀFICA (DAG) from 1982 to 2007 (49 issues). The analysis has been carried out using the «productivity measures» methodology which includes a set of variables on frequency, authors' production and collaboration, institution, subject, area and scale of study, and language of the articles. The collected data shows clearly the main features of the journal as well as the interests and concerns of the authors and the departments which have edited the journal (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universitat de Girona). Among these features, the following can be outlined: regularity and constancy; innovation and new geographical perspectives and interests, authorship diversity, concern for theoretical and methodological aspects, emphasis in human geography and gender approaches and relevance in geography research developments in Catalonia and Spain.
