Vergil's epigraphic text. Mors immatura at the end of the Aeneid?

Research output: Contribution to journalArticleResearchpeer-review

Abstract

The relationship between the Epigraphic Texts and Vergil has always been studied on the basis that the Poet's work (mainly the Aeneid) influenced them. But in the past years, a group of Scholars has demonstrated that the Epigraphic Literature written before Vergil has influenced his poetry too. The aim of this paper is to analize this influence through the presence of epigraphic specialized vocabulary at Aeneid's end; and to demonstrate that Turnus' death is presented as a mors immatura.
