Validation of self-perception scale of transversal and professional competences of higher education students

The European convergence process has involved changes in the university system as the incorporation of competences in higher education has resulted in significant changes in teaching methods and, consequently, in evaluating of them. Different authors and institutions are recommended to incorporate self-assessment of students in this process to know their opinion about the development or not of the necessary competences to practice and develop the job for which they are forming skills assessment. The aim of this paper is to show the results of psychometric analysis on a scale to self-assess competences in college students. The results show adequate content validity, the descriptive analysis of the items has shown that all were relevant, construct validity showed a structure consistent with the type of evaluated competences and, finally, internal consists showed a Cronbach Alpha of .992. In conclusion, the presented scale offers psychometric parameters that enable its application in the self-assessment of competences.
