Una didàctica del plurilingüisme

The contemporary school hosts students with diverse sociolinguistic experiences and competences in the different languages with ​​which they have been in contact. However, schools often propose teaching languages separately, without considering the everyday student practices. In this article, we review some current views of plurilingualism, understood, first, as the ability of individuals to choose resources appropriate for each situation, and, second, as a useful repertoire for dealing with communication problems. We also discuss the role of plurilingual practices in the acquisition of new skills, and the need to incorporate plurilingual activities in language teaching programs.
