Abstract
This afterword gives a biography of the Yiddish author Leyb Rokhman, a Polish-born Holocaust survivor, and places his work in the Yiddish cultural, linguistic and literary context, a cultural system that was driven to extinction in the 20th century. After discussing the Yiddish language and literature, as well as the role played by Rokhman and his novel “Mit blinde trit iber der erd” — the first to be translated directly from Yiddish into Catalan — the translator evokes the path that led him to this work and the process he undertook throughout the translation.
