Abstract
It is shown that the restriction that, for a given internal energy density, the heat flux cannot be arbitrarily high but is bounded by a maximum admissible value guarantees that a generalized entropy depending on the heat flux satisfies the third law of thermodynamics when T → 0. © 1995.
