Thickness dependence of coercivity in FePt/C multilayers

Abstract

A strong dependence of FePt particle size on the number of layers N, in pseudo multilayer precursors is discussed. The relationship between coercivity and the microstructure is also discussed. The pseudo multilayer precursor technique is used for fabricating media, based on FePt nanoparticles. The effect of the total thickness of the multilayer precursor structure on particle size and coercivity is reported.
