Abstract
We discuss the relation between extended irreversible thermodynamics and hydrodynamics. In particular, we derive systematically the results of the so-called generalized hydrodynamics and we relate our results with those of Mori and Zwanzig's theory, obtaining, thus, memory kernels compatible with irreversible thermodynamics. © 1985.
