Abstract
© Patronat d'Estudis Osonencs. Jaume Balmes wrote nearly all his work in Spanish. Soon, however, some of his texts were produced in Catalan versions. From the mid-19th century until today, the many social and cultural changes have caused variations in the criteria that guided these translations. Starting from the first catechetical works until the most recent editions of his philosophical writings, including texts that with ideological ends were translated during the times of Franco, the author provides a general view of the Catalan versions of the philosopher from Vic.
