Abstract

The goal of this paper is to comment on some controversial aspects of verses 4-5 (Courtney's edition of 1993) by Cornelius Gallus. We will argue that the sentence ... multorum templa deorum / ... legam can be interpreted through the presence and influences in the Roman world of the "epigraphic way of communication".
