Abstract
© Patronat d'Estudis Osonencs. In this article we propose to analyze the role that Vic played in the course of the last phase of the war between France and the Spanish Monarchy initiated in 1635 and finishing in 1659. From 1652, after the recovery of Barcelona for the troops of king Felipe IV, a long and hard war took place in the north of Catalonia. Fighting was mostly in the area between Ampurdan and the Cerdanya, but the French incursions towards Osona made of these lands a first line of combat.
