Abstract

This paper analyses the facies and Sedimentary Petrology of the PermoTriassic sediments outcroping in the Catalan Coastal Ranges. The studied area has been divided into four zones of easy description: two northern zones, the Montseny and Garraf areas and two southern zones, the Miramar and Pradesh-Colldejou areas. The method used to study the characteristics of each zone is similar. It consists in a description of the facies and sedimentary environment, its petrologic features, provenance area and the diagenetic processes that took place. Each description ends by a tectonic-sedimentary model applied to each half-graben basin. -from English summary
