Abstract

© Patronat d'Estudis Osonencs. Even though we have no precise date for the composition of the poem Glop de neu, we know that it was written in August of 1900. Jacint Verdaguer was inspired by some botanic notes sent to him by the folklorist of western Catalonia Valeri Serra i Boldú who described in the press of Lleida and Barcelona his contacts with the poet about the plant. This study includes the information acquired by Valeri Serra i Balda as well as the information from Verdaguer's letters to him. The article is completed by scientific observations about the plant that forms the object of the poem.
