The pregnant woman is likely to notice changes in the skin as a result of pregnancy, such as erythema, papules, eruptions and non-specific symptoms such as pruritus. This is a review article on the physiological changes on the skin during pregnancy. These may lead to diagnostic dilemmas because they might be mistaken for non physiological changes which may need treatment. In general, obstetricians poorly understand these conditions.
