Abstract
From magnetic hysteresis loops measured at different maximum applied magnetic fields, the grain and intergrain critical current densities of IBAD and RABiTS coated conductors were determined simultaneously. Numerical calculations determining the return and full penetration field of saturated finite grains in the Bean critical-state model enabled to properly quantify the grain critical current and give relevant evidence for grain size structure of both types of conductors.
