Abstract
We study multiphoton detachment for a one-dimensional ion model with a Dirac δ-function potential, numerically solving the Schrödinger equation. We analyze the influence of a multiphoton resonance just at the ionization threshold. The intensity dependence of the cross section of the process is related to various ponderomotive thresholds. For low-intensity fields and short times non-energy-conserving terms are dominant. The validity of perturbation theory is tested also. © 1991 Optical Society of America.
