Abstract
In response to the comment by Raveau et al. [Phys. Rev. B 62, 6820 (2000)] the high-resolution neutron diffraction data taken below 135 K on Pr0.5Sr0.5MnO3 are examined. A detailed comparison of the results using the P21/n and Fmmm symmetries is presented. It is shown that the refined atomic positions using the Fmmm cell are almost identical to those reported by Llobet et al. [Phys. Rev. B 60, R9889 (1999)]. The unique significant difference is a shift Δx=0.010(5) in the coordinate of the oxygen O1. It is concluded that the detailed physical mechanism that causes the transition given by Llobet et al. remains unaltered in the 2ap ×2ap×2ap description.
