Funded by SCOAP 3 We apply the recently discovered classical-quantum correspondence to study the quantum evaporation of breathers in an extended sine-Gordon model. We present numerical results for the decay rate of the breather as a function of the coupling strength in the model. This is a complete treatment of the backreaction of quantum radiation on the classical dynamics of oscillons.
