Abstract
This paper presents the results of research carried out on those formative aspects that Communicationstudents seek to learn at university level, taking as a reference the demands and needs of the existingmarket, as well as the professional expectations of specialization. For this purpose, the methodology appliedwas based on a literature review and a survey of 100 students from the Communication degree program atthe Technical University of Machala, Ecuador. In conclusion, emphasis is placed on the ethical and epistemicfoundations of communication, on a transdisciplinary and humanistic profile, and on a formative commitmentto new technologies and language learning.
