Abstract

The aim of this paper is to review, without prejudice, aspects related to the world of prostitution in the Classic Greece of the 5th and 4th centuries BC, which in the last decades have been described as definitory elements and closely linked to this activity by many specialized historians. Through the observation of several examples of the iconography of attic pottery, especially the symposium scenes, some of the features that have been attributed exclusively to women dedicated to prostitution are analized in this paper, paying special attention to the auletrídes
