Abstract
Analytical and numerical studies of an optically pumped J″ = 1 → J = 0 → J′ = 1 isotropic cavity laser were carried out. It was observed that the behavior of this system is dramatically different from that found in the case of a coherently pumped J″ = 0 → J = 1 → J′ = laser. Contrary to this, the system exhibited several features of an incoherently pumped J = 1 → J′ = 0 or J = 0 → J′ = 1 isotropic cavity laser and also some features of a scalar three-level optically pumped laser.
