Abstract
An optimal encoding and decoding procedure of spin direction was presented. Maximum average fidelity for arbitrary N spins was calculated showed that it was directly related to the largest zeros of Legendre and Jacobi polynomials. It reaches unity quadratically in 1/N. The results were also analyzed in terms of encoding Hilbert space.
