Abstract
We show, by means of the extended irreversible thermodynamic formalism, a relation between the fluctuations of the dissipative fluxes around the equilibrium state and the wave velocity of signals in the high-frequency limit. We also define some effective relaxation times to describe the dissipative fluxes in that limit, and discuss a previous result relating fluctuations and the high-frequency behaviour of the dissipative fluxes. © 1990.
