Abstract
The relation predicted by extended irreversible thermodynamics between the fluctuations of the viscous pressure tensor around an equilibrium state and the high-frequency limit of the imaginary part of the complex viscosity is confirmed from kinetic theory for dilute dumbbell solutions. © 1990.
