On radon surveys: Design and data interpretation

Abstract

Though open to all conference participants, this refresher lecture is addressed mainly to young students that start their research on radon monitoring. I cover the most relevant aspects that have to be taken into account when carrying out a radon survey: how to design it as a function of the objectives of the survey, which are the most common different strategies to distribute and collect the dosimeters, and which is the quality assurance programme that a radon laboratory should take into account. Special emphasis is put on the data analysis and on the interpretation of the results obtained. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
