Abstract

The treatment of women in the American television series developed in line with social changes. We note the reappearance of traditional motifs as the sacrificial princess, bovarisme, the prostitute and the redemptor, which have a prominent influence in te-levision treatment of the female figure. The article also describes the evolution of the image of women in television series to finish noting the appearance of a masculinized female model, the permanence of unruly women, the cult of the body and the objecti-fication of women as well as the model of strong women and the issue of motherhood.
