Abstract

© Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. A novel tp0548 sequence-type of Treponema pallidum has been identified in a genital ulcer sample collected from a patient diagnosed with primary syphilis at the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona. Following the nomenclature used in the Enhanced Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Typing methodology, letter "z" has been assigned to the new sequence type.
