The aim of this work is to contextualize the use of the word (illness) by Herodotus, bearing in mind the different meanings it had in the Fifth century BCE. Therefore, we analyze how Herodotus assimilated the different meanings of and consciously used them, both in a moralizing way and as ethnographical remarks in his.
